* New Course: NBE 3E/3C/3U *
Hon. W.C. Kennedy S.S. was one of the first schools within the board piloting the First Nations, Metis, Inuit course curriculum for our students. We are now in our second year of offering this course to all our Grade 11 English students. It provides students with an introduction to varied writers and additional Canadian content while maintaining the focus on Reading, Writing, Media Studies, and Oral Communication. New curriculum strands introduce students to the rich Indigenous cultures that have produced many of the narratives that shape our country and our peoples.
OSSLT Test
MOCK TEST: A Mock OSSLT test will be run TBA - February 2020 to review the test format and establish specific student needs.
The province wide literacy test for all Grade 10 and Previously Eligible students:
ENG2L/2P - Windsor Public Library Resources - English Field Trip
Ms. Benson and Ms White accompanied their students on a field trip to the Windsor Public Library main branch to introduce students to the resources available to them at these community hubs. From technology, to books, to games, to online Apps, the library connects students to many different points of access to the world around them.
Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF)
Grade English 12 students had the opportunity to experience film media productions through a visit to view two films at Windsor's film festival this year. Thank you to Ms. Remetic for organizing and travelling for this event.
